Even though these three artists are collaborating for the first time as a trio, they already have much in common: from their shared passions for improvisation and playing string instruments, to their love of jazz music and Arabic Maqam modal music.
In this unprecedented performance, this trio presents a repertoire consisting of their own original compositions as well as some of their favourite and well-known jazz standards.
The unique thing about this concert is that this is the first time Ali Omar El-Farouk and Ahmad Hani perform together since 2008! Even though the two had collaborated together many times in the past, they had both moved out of Egypt a long time ago. With both of them being currently in Cairo, a long overdue reunion was in order, and they couldn’t be happier to share the stage with none other than the multi-talented Rana Haggag. A one-of-a-kind performance not to be missed!
